La Liga BTTS Stats 2025/26: Europe’s Strongest Home Advantage

by Superior Results Desk | Aug 8, 2026 | Season reviews and previews, Betting Guides, European Football

Reading Time: 6 minutes

La Liga BTTS stats sit in the middle of the European pack, and the interesting number in this league is somewhere else entirely. Across 295 completed matches from our database, the first on 15 August 2025 and the last on 2 May 2026, both teams scored in 54.2%. Home sides won 48.5% of those matches and claimed nearly three in every five goals scored, which is the widest home skew of the five leagues we counted the same way.

  • Both teams scored in 160 of 295 matches, or 54.2%.
  • Home teams won 48.5% of matches and scored 58.6% of all goals in the league.
  • Favourites at 1.50 or shorter won 84.6% of the time, the best figure of the five leagues.
  • Only 14 matches finished goalless, a 4.7% rate.
  • 1-1 led the scorelines at 14.9%, the highest single-scoreline share of any league except Ligue 1.
  • Sample: 295 matches, 15 August 2025 to 2 May 2026. The closing rounds are not included.

Home advantage in La Liga was the widest in Europe

Home teams took 143 of the 295 matches and scored 1.56 goals a game against 1.11 for visitors. That gap put 58.6% of every goal in the league on the home side of the scoreline, and it is the single most useful thing in this dataset for anyone pricing a Spanish fixture.

Ligue 1 came closest on home wins at 48.2%, while Serie A sat nine and a half points lower at 39.0%. Treating home advantage as one European constant costs you accuracy in both directions.

La Liga goals and over/under profile

Across the 295 completed matches in this sample the league produced 787 goals, an average of 2.67 a game. The table below gives every goals line a bettor uses, counted the same way for each one.

Goals lineMatches over the lineShare of the sample

Under 2.5 goals landed in 50.2% of matches, so the over/under 2.5 market in this league sat close to a coin flip once you account for the margin a bookmaker builds into both sides. Our over and under goals predictions price each fixture individually rather than leaning on a league average.

Home, draw and away results in La Liga

The 48.5% home win rate was the highest of the five leagues, and the 26.8% away win rate was the lowest. Draws at 24.7% sat below the Premier League and Serie A.

ResultMatchesShare of the sample
Home win14348.5%
Draw7324.7%
Away win7926.8%

Home teams scored 1.56 goals a game and away teams 1.11, which means home sides took 58.6% of every goal scored in the sample.

The most common La Liga scorelines

1-1 and 1-0 between them accounted for more than a quarter of every match, and four of the six most common results were home wins or draws. The pattern matches the home advantage above rather than contradicting it.

What the bookmakers' favourites delivered

Stored pre-match prices let us check the market against results. Across the 270 La Liga matches where we held a full set of home, draw and away prices, the favoured team won 55.6% of the time, and the shortest favourites were more dependable here than anywhere else in the sample.

La Liga team by team: the useful extremes

The spread between clubs in this league is unusually wide, with one side going unbeaten at home across the sample and another failing to score in more than half its matches.

Using these La Liga numbers on this season's fixtures

Give home advantage more weight in La Liga than you would in Serie A or the Premier League, and treat a short-priced Spanish favourite at home as the most dependable version of that bet in Europe's big five.

A league rate is a starting price, never the answer for one fixture. Two mid-table sides who both defend deep will not behave like the league average, and neither will a match between the two heaviest scoring teams in the tables above. Our model prices each La Liga fixture on its own, publishes a probability and a predicted scoreline, and those calls are then graded in public.

If you want to compare the price on a market discussed here, Megapari lists goals and both teams to score lines for most La Liga fixtures. Odds move, so check the live price rather than trusting a number quoted in an article.

Frequently asked questions

Each answer below comes from the same 295 match sample, with the figure and the sample size stated.

What percentage of La Liga matches had both teams score in 2025/26?

Both teams scored in 54.2% of the sample, or 160 matches out of 295. The window runs from 15 August 2025 to 2 May 2026 and stops short of the closing rounds, whose results are absent from our database.

Does home advantage really matter in La Liga?

In this sample it mattered more than in any of the other four major leagues. Home teams won 48.5% of matches and scored 58.6% of every goal in the league, at 1.56 a game against 1.11 for away sides.

How often did short-priced La Liga favourites win?

Favourites priced at 1.50 or shorter won 44 of 52 matches, which is 84.6%, the strongest figure of the five leagues we counted. They drew 11.5% and failed to win outright only 3.8% of the time.

Which La Liga team had the fewest both teams to score matches?

Oviedo, at 27.6% of their 29 completed matches, with Getafe close behind on 29.6%. Getafe also had the lowest over 2.5 goals rate in the league at 25.9% and the fewest goals a game at 1.85.

How we counted this

Every figure on this page comes from our own match and prediction database, not from a third-party stats feed. The count is deliberately narrow so you can check it.

  • Sample: 295 completed La Liga matches, the first on 15 August 2025 and the last on 2 May 2026.
  • What is missing: the closing rounds of the 2025/26 season are not in this sample, because results after 2 May 2026 were never written into our database. This is not a full-season total and we have not treated it as one.
  • Percentages: each rate is that market's hit count divided by the 295 matches, rounded to one decimal place.
  • Odds: the favourite tables use 270 matches, the subset where we stored a pre-match price for all three of home, draw and away.
  • Team tables: clubs with fewer than 20 completed matches in the sample are excluded.

Publishing the sample size and the gap matters more to us than a rounder headline number. Our approach to grading published calls is set out in how Superior Tips works.
